About

Evelyn Jacobs is a textile artist whose work explores the meeting point between the natural world and human impact. Working across knit, crochet and weaving, she often incorporates found objects, drawing materials from the landscapes she responds to.

At the heart of her practice is a search for connection: the hidden communication of mycelium networks, the ancestral histories held within a place, and the way natural systems depend on one another to keep their balance.

Her research into Celtic traditions has shaped her understanding of textiles as more than cloth. A tapestry can be a map, a story, a record of lineage, and a trace of the hands that made it. Through her work, Evelyn feels a kinship with the generations of women who have told their stories through weaving, passing knowledge from one pair of skilled hands to the next.
